Sirius XT is a spinout the UCD School of Physics, based on research developing the technology for a soft x-ray source for a tomography (SXT) microscope. SiriusXT is now commercializing the microscope.
This is the first commercial lab-scale SXT microscope of its kind in the world, and will allow researchers to illuminate whole single cells or tissue samples and produce 3D images that cannot be produced in any other way. These images can be used to track the effect of drugs and diseases on a cellular scale.
ACT Venture Capital is an early stage investor in Sirius XT with co-investors Delta Partners and the founders of Gencell.
